Australia Lift Cricket World Trophy for 5th Time

Australia has become Champion of Cricket World Cup 2015 after beating Black Caps today in MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). Yes! Today Australian Team are Crowned World Cricket Championship and that was their 5th trophy.

MJ Clarke Australian Cricket Captain


Australian Cricket Captain MJ Clarke finished his ODI Career as victorious captain and lifted trophy with proud. He led his team from front and played important role with his bat in his last game by scoring 74 runs. Clarke finished ODI with 7981 runs in ODIS in 223 matches and 44.58 average.

Australian Cricket Team


Earlier New Zealand Cricket Team won the toss and elected to bat first. Black caps lost top 3 batsmen on 39 including  BB McCullum, MJ Guptill and K Williamson. Ross Taylor and GD Elliot paired for a 111 4th wicket partnership, however James Faulkner picked broke the dangerous looking partnership with the help of Haddin behind the wicket. Third Umpire confirmed the out by replays. New Zealand was 150 for 4 at that time.

Steven Smith


Afterwards, entire New Zealand Team was out on 183. 5 Kiwi batsmen failed to score a single run, while 3 others failed to cross 20 runs figure. Elliott remained top scorer on 83, while Taylor scored 40 runs.

In response, Australia lost Finch who failed to open the bat on 2 runs. Warner and Smith scored 61 runs for 2nd wicket. Henry picked Warner’s wicket when Australia was on 63. Clarke joined smith and scored the highest partnership of match by adding 112 runs. Clarke was in aggressive touch in his final ODI, he scored 74 runs of 72 balls including 10 boundaries and a maximum.



He was bowled by Henry on 75 runs, Smith (56) and Watson (2) returned unbeaten. In the end, Australia achieved target in 33.1 overs with 7 wickets spares.

Australian Winning Captain


James Faulkner was named Man of the Match for his brilliance bowling. Faulkner picked 2 crucial wickets during 36th over during batting power play.

MA Starc named Player of the Tournament for his aggressive bowling. Martin Guptill finished as top run scorer of Cricket World Cup 2015. He scored 547 runs in 9 matches with an average of 68.37 and strike rate of 104.58. He scored 2 100+ scores and a half century.

Boult and Starc finished as top wicket takers. Australian Wicket Keeper Haddin picked 16 catches in 8 matches, while MS Dhoni picked 15 in same number of matches.
