Bangladesh Beat England to Qualify for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Quarterfinal



Bengal Tigers have stunned England Cricket Team in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Pool Match by defeating them by 15 runs.  E Morgan won the toss and invited Bengali Openers to bat first. The worst start by Bengali openers was going in the favor of England, however Mahmudullah’s maiden century in Cricket World Cup for his side really helped Bangladesh to put a challenging target for English Batsmen. Bangladesh also scored highest ODI score against English Team as well.

Live from Adelaide Oval, Bangladesh lost both openers  on 8, as Imrul Kayes (2)  returned to pavilion on 3 and Tamim Iqbal (2) also joined his team mates in pavilion when Bangladesh scored 8 and left the team in troubles.

Soumya (36) paired with Mahmudullah Riyad for 86 runs, while big gun Shakib failed to impress with bat in big game and was thrown out of ground by Moian Ali, Joe Root helped Moian Ali for his alone wicket in match.

Wicketkeeper batsman and ex-captain for Bangladesh Mushfiqur Rahim joined Mahmudullah Riyad and added 141 runs for 5th wicket which is also highest partnership for any wicket by Bangladesh. Mahmudullah Riyad was run out on the throw of Woakes. He scored 103 runs of 138 balls including 7 boundaries and 2 skyscrapers.

Mushfiqur Rahim’s quick fire of 89 on 77 balls really helped his team to score with high rate in death overs. In the end, Bangladesh managed to score 275 runs in 50 overs and lost 7 wickets.

In response English Openers provided a start of 43 runs. Moian Ali was first to go on the throw of Soumya Sarkar. He scored 19 runs before his return to pavilion. AD Hales joined his teammates in pavilion after scoring 27 runs, at that time England was 3 runs short from crossing 100.

Ian Bell was playing sensible cricket, however Robel Hossain picked him up behind wicket. Bell’s contribution for victory was 63, now England was 3 down on 121.

Soon after departure of Bell, English Captain joined him to watch the match from pavilion; England was in deep trouble as half of English team was returned to pavilion on 132 runs. Mashrafe Mortaza stunned Joe Rote by picking his wicket behind the wicket. Root scored 29 runs and returned to pavilion when his team crossed 163 runs.

Here England was in need of 113 runs with 86 legal balls to come. Buttler and Woakes arrived on pitch, and then things started to change for England. The pair added 75 runs for 7th wicket. Buttler reached his 50 of 41 balls including 4 boundaries and a sixer. The pair also crossed 50 runs partnership on just 45 balls. When everything was in control of England, Taskin Ahmed blow England in 46th over by picking Buttler on second last ball, while Jordan was run out on the throw of Shakib-ul-Hassan on last ball of same over.

During last 3 overs, England was required 31 with 2 wickets. Woakes picked a single on first ball of 48th over, while S Broad guided the ball out of boundary line on 2nd ball of the over. Tamim Iqbal dropped Woakes on 4th delivery. England Scored 15 runs of 48th over and require another 16 runs from 2 overs.

Robel Hossain picked up the ball to bowl 2nd last over of match, and picked up Broad on very first ball of match. James Anderson was last men to bat for England, Robel Hossain threw a Yorker as Anderson merely escaped from loosing wicket, however his 3rd ball Knocked England Out of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

Bangladesh beat England by 15 Runs in Final Over of Match. Congratulations to Bengali Cricket Team and Cricket Fans.
