International Cricket Council has imposed ban on Magician
Off Spinner Saeed Ajmal. Saeed Ajmal was reported with suspicious bowling
action during Sri Lankan Tour. It is a big blow to Pakistan Cricket, former
Test Cricketer Azhar Mehmood questioned the timing of act by ICC.
37 year old Off Spinner Saeed Ajmal was asked to report National
Cricket Academy of Cricket Australia for analysis of his bowling action.
ICC imposed ban on Spinner after a bio-mechanical experts
tested his bowling action in National Cricket Academy of Australia in Brisbane.
Ajmal has right to appeal for re-assessment of his bowling action at any time.
The ICC release stated that, "An
independent analysis has found the bowling action of Pakistan's off-spinner
Saeed Ajmal to be illegal and, as such, the player has been suspended from
bowling in international cricket with immediate effect.”
ICC release stated that all
of the Ajmal’s deliveries crossed the 15 degree angle, before this Ajmal was
reported with same case in 2009.
Ban on Ajmal is indeed a big blow to Pakistan Cricket Team
as World Cup 2015 is near and Pakistan is lacking quality off spinner.
