Northern Districts beat Lahore Lions by 72 Runs

Lahore Lions can’t continue the flow of success and lost their second match in Champions League T20. New Zealand side Champions Team put 170 runs on board as Lahore Lions bowler failed to stop Northern Districts with high scores.


BJ Watling and DR Flynn scored 53 each; the pair put 90 runs partnership for 4th wicket. Asif Raza was the only bowler with some respectful bowling figures, remaining bowlers were victims of Kiwi domestic champions.

 In response Lahore Lions start was just a disaster as Nasir Jamshed was bowled by Tim Southee on 5, while Ahmad Shahzad was picked up by Wicketkeeper behind the stamps, scoreboard was showing 12 runs on board. Hafeez was next to go, Lahore Lions batsmen made it easy for Northern Districts to earn an easy victory against them.

No batsmen except Saad Nasim (scored 58) were able to cross double figure. Lahore Lions was all out on 98. Tim Southee took 3 wickets, Boult and Sodhi share 2 wickets each. Styris tokk 1, while Saad NAsim was run out by Boult.

Kiwi Champion Team Northern Districts is more likely to qualify for Main Round of Champions League as they have won 2 matches one to go.


Today Mumbai Indians (India) will face Southern Express (Sri Lanka).
